The first virtual screening of The Top Dog Film Festival
When I learnt about this independent film festival from Australia launching virtually on December 27th – it was a no brainer, we had to cover this as a ‘bonus Christmas episode’ on A DOG'S LIFE!
Organiser Rosie Fuller joined me to explain why the Festival adapted to go virtual offering dogs and their pet parents perfect viewing with Fido over the holidays.
With nine independent movies to enjoy, each is heart-warming and up-lifting. Chosen for its star quality whether its Sugar the surfing rescue dog, Tiffany the ‘estate agent’ pooch, or Rasy the Seagull deterrent, these short films encapsulates what makes dogs ‘man’s best friend’.
Films start at 7pm, with viewers invited to explore the virtual foyer from 6 pm. There’s fun dog themed quizzes to enjoy, prize draws and more.
Viewings available for 48 hours over two screenings Dec 27th and January 15th both for 48 hours.
Film highlights include ‘odd jobs for dogs’ where some extraordinary dogs have dedicated their lives to lending a helping paw, from Hoki who helps monitor protected species. There’s Rasy who wards of pesky seagulls along the Sydney seafront. And there’s Tiffany the Shih-Tzu who works alongside her Estate Agent parent visiting a raft of exclusive properties for sale.
The Top Dog Film Festival originated in Australia and this is its first virtual screening tour.
