    Zazie has a PhD in Psychology, and an Advanced Certificate in Feline Behaviour from International Cat Care. Her award winning book Wag was featured in episode: 53 of A DOG’S LIFE and similarly covers all the essentials and latest science to work out how to make your pet happy.

    The subject of renting with pets was thrust into the spotlight late last year, when Romford MP Andrew Rosindell introduced his private member’s bill, dubbed Jasmine’s Law, with the aim of banning No Pets clauses in rental contracts. 2nd September 2021 : a truly momentous date in AdvoCATS’ history, as we took on the Government and launched our Heads for Tails! report and campaign to make renting with pets fairer for ALL. Backed by some 37 MPs and Peers, and endorsed by 31 organisations across the animal welfare and private rented sectors, Heads for Tails! calls for a simple change to the Tenant Fees Act 2019 to open up the rental market to tenants with pets.

  • Big steps for Animal Welfare in the UK

    The Government's proposals announced on May 13th by DEFRA are set out in a flagship Action Plan for Animal Welfare, which will see several new laws coming into effect, transforming the lives of animals in this country.  

    Legislation will now be underpinned by Environment Secretary George Eustice’s landmark Animal Welfare (Sentience) Bill, which formally recognises animals as sentient beings in domestic law.

  • Remembrance Sunday: and the only cat awarded the Dickin Medal

    Remembrance Sunday is when animal lovers don a purple poppy to commemorate the animals that served in the Armed Forces. The PDSA's Dickin Medal is the 'Victoria Cross ' and recognises animals' bravery. In its 77 years only one cat has ever been honoured with this prestigious accolade.
